The Fraternal Order of Police takes officer wellness seriously. Led by the National Director of Wellness Services, the National Officer Wellness Committee is committed to assisting members with all facets of healthy living throughout a career in law enforcement.

Originally formed in 2001 as the FOP Critical Incident Committee, the mission of the committee was to support members in the aftermath of critical incidents or large-scale disasters. In 2013, the need for increased steady support of members was recognized, and the transition to the Officer Wellness Committee was completed. In 2019, recognizing the importance of officer wellness to the members of the Order, the National Fraternal Order of Police established the Division of Wellness Services, making officer wellness a full-time priority of the Order.

Today, the Division of Wellness Services provides a variety of wellness resources to members, including education, connections to culturally competent wellness practitioners, and guidance in all matters related to staying healthy and productive.

Through the State Wellness Liaison Cadre, the Officer Wellness Committee maintains a point of contact within each State Lodge who works with the Committee to develop wellness resources within their state

In times of crisis, the FOP wants to ensure that each officer has a competent place to turn for help. The Officer Wellness Committee engages in a thorough vetting process of available resources, and has deemed these hotlines vetted and approved for our members.
